Creating a shape with shadow or tone
For this week we focused on making a shape using tone with the help of boxes that another year made. With these shapes I decided to make a building out of the boxes that seemed like an assault course as well. The medium we used for these were charcoal because it would create a better tonal drawing. I really enjoyed this project because it led me use my imagination to create weird shapes which I enjoy doing.
5 objects
In one of the weeks we were given a project to go around and find five different objects to draw from around the university as well as drawing some object within the drawing studio as well. We then had to change the images into what we could think of that could still let the items maintain their shape. With the mediums in this project I used pencil, felt tip pens, oil pastel, charcoal and ink. I enjoyed going around and finding objects to draw and change because it made me look at these objects in a different way and how I could visualise this different way.

Summer Drawings
Throughout the summer we were asked to carry on practising our observational drawings to prepare ourselves for the second year. For this I only used simple drawing pencils as my medium. I enjoyed doing some of these drawings because they were either special moment or moments that made me laugh and smile. However if I could change something I would have liked to go on a holiday out of the country to draw observational drawings in exotic locations instead.
